Veni Vidi Vomui, a masterpiece of relentless brutality and chaos. Dan Swano mastering the album is enough to give a general idea of the quality of the album. Politics, war and corruption are well illustrated in every track : Walid Wolflust Shoughary, the monster took it on his own shoulders to show the world the anger and madness we all feel in this corrupted country. Ziad Blaster Alam, a hellhound on a rampage impeccably merges ‘kvlt’ black metal drumming with ruthless death metal aggression. Anthony ‘ Kaos’ Assaker, the alias says it all to describe this reaper sharpening his scythe with every chord, every hit and every line he writes.
Wolflust mixes his well known high pitches with unforgiving growling alternated with screams of agony reminding me of ‘Asgaroth’ , emphasizing the statement the album carries within and even carrying it out with the country’s own language; few are the artists who used Arabic in their tracks.
Kaos, ever so impressive with his shredding, shows that he ain’t just about that: solos and sweeps enrich each track with chaotic and vigorously melancholic melodies bringing out the pain and suffering in the beast’s heart.
Ziad, a machine working at full throttle, more than enough to prove why he’s called ‘ Blaster ‘, if it ain’t blasting, it’s full speed on the pedals, if not both at some stages. I’ve seen this guy around 5 times playing in front of me, listened to the album more than a dozen times and I’m still amazed every time I hear a track from it.
On the downside, very few can be said:
At some parts, the vocals are a bit garbled but who are we kidding, the guy is a genius, using every trick in the book to show his true metal. And regarding the drumlins I would’ve expected slightly more technical parts, but that’s just my opinion.
We shall forever scream Veni Vidi Vomui !!!!
Hail KaoTeon, Hail Lebanon.
